If you’re looking to travel overseas, most likely that means airplane travel. But uh-oh…NOW you’ve got the question of how to find an affordable suitcase that can go through: TSA, bag check, security, and maneuvering around terminals near and far. It is meant to be an adventure, but having a suitcase burst open, a wheel come off, or your companion constantly waiting on you is not the kind of adventure you’re looking for. I could have done a review of any number of several duffel bags, suitcases, backpacks I’ve tried over the years that are all candidates for the best luggage for international travel, but instead, I’m going to stick with the one I know won’t let you down.
First What Kind Of Bag Do You Even Need?
Depending on your travel itinerary, you may be looking at reliving some backpacking adventures of youth, headed to the Peregrino de Compostela, or maybe like me you just like to travel out of a backpack and ride the Eurorail wherever your heart desires. In which case, you might be saying to me, “John, a hard-shell suitcase would not seem like a great recommendation.” Well… you’re half right!
SeniorSouth Tip: Personally, I use the large suitcase to pack all of my items for any backpacking trip in the 28″ bag, and check it for the flight, then I use just the 20″ one for a carry-on for the flight, as well as a small day bag. Once I get to my destination, say Barcelona, I unpack my backpack and load it up with all the items I need, then put the 20″ suitcase into the 28″ as well as my empty day bag. This allows for easy travel on trains, or more recently when I know I’m doing a round-trip from that airport, I find a long-term (longer than a week if needed) storage location. There are these types of businesses in almost all major European cities, if you have trouble finding one leave a comment and I’ll help you find a suitable one!
The point of all this is to travel with your backpack and equipment safe and secure from damage during the flight, as well as to have some extra security in mobility should you need it at your destination.
But if you’re just doing the usual airport-to-hotel then this bag is an even bigger slam-dunk the Coolife Hard-shell is a superior suitcase at an affordable cost.

Why this bag??
For me, the quality has stood up after many airline trips with these bags. Steering or pulling it through the airport is easy, the handles have held up after multiple yanks from the car trunk (maybe because I’m always running late to the airport, I don’t know), ultimately, this bag has held up to the point where I’m impressed.

Oh, and it’s not just me!
I’m definitely someone who reads the reviews on products before I buy them, and this product and the Coolife company have consistently impressed customers. Here are just a few of the reviews from Amazon:
“My family travels internationally which means lots of airplane transfers, rail, ferry loading and unloading. Each member has their own set.”
“These are solid, feel well put together, and seem like they will last a while. The middle sized bag was perfect for me for a 7 day international trip… I cant wait to go on vacation and need the large bag!”
“After a week of traveling I am quite impressed with this luggage. It has withstood the rigors of daily movement from my pick up to whatever hotel my wife and I happen to be staying in during this six state journey.”
The company Coolife also stands by the product. After an initial poor experience, this customer had this to say:
“The Company reached out within 24 hours of my review to address the situation. I was very impressed with their customer service and their desire to have happy customers.”

So here’s the deal. I am a pretty experienced traveler and I imagine most of you have been on an airplane or two. Probably we’ve all had bad experiences with bags but the Coolife set will not let you down, believe me. Also, you probably have more fun things to shop for besides the luggage, like which beach in Croatia you want to go to 🙂
